At first glance you might think we got a little sloppy with the saw on this one. But the angled counter was our client's creative idea. You see, this bar is nestled at the top of the stairwell. Angling the cabinet and countertop was a smart solution in this tight space, making the room feel more open and spacious💫⁠

We just love the many layers of this walnut bench. ⁠ The raw & rustic live edge wood takes center stage, while the artistic trestle draws you closer.
⁠
The benches were built using 100% traditional mortise & tenon joinery. Translation: long-standing strength and stability. This also means there are ZERO screws to detract from the handsome aesthetic. ⁠

Hours of intentional design went into building this dining room table. We thoughtfully chose the wood grain direction to increase the table's structural support. And we added cross-grain pieces in various areas to further strengthen the base.⁠

The moment we’ve been waiting for…assembling the base of this live edge walnut table🤩 It came together just as we planned. Can’t wait to flip this beauty over and show y’all the finished pics later this week!

We’re bringing a touch of style and very important function to this live edge table. These walnut slabs had several splits coming from the edge, which we filled with dark epoxy. But to further reinforce the wood, we inlaid bow ties (aka Dutchman joints) to mitigate wood movement and prevent future checking. ⁠
⁠
We chose to add bow ties along the edge rather than on top, so they wouldn’t detract from the gorgeous grain of this slab. We love how the bow ties are an understated & functional accent🎀✨

Wanna know a secret? We sell rolling pins but we still don’t own one. Matt’s mom loves to bake but when she visits our house, she has to use a wine bottle to roll dough😆😂 Maybe one of these days we’ll surprise her with a hand-turned rolling pin😉

Our daughter needed a desk, but the only free space was in our living room. So Matt created a clean and modern desk that blends right into our home's decor. This white oak desk has fun X legs, but it could also be designed as a parsons or waterfall table. ⁠
