Does “In-Stock” mean it’s ready to pick up today?

It depends. While we do offer finished product in our retail store, we also stock "roughed in" products in our workshop which are often used to fulfill orders.

If you need an item quickly, call us to see if it's available in the Showroom. If it's not available today, we offer Standard Processing (7-10 business days) or Rush Processing (3 business days).

Do you offer local pick-up?

Yep! Select “local pick-up” at checkout and we will send you an email as soon as your order is ready for pick up.

How do I engrave a custom design?

We love creating custom engravings! Here are the best methods for recreating the design:

  • Option 1: upload a vector image (EPS or AI) on the product page
  • Option 2: use a printer to scan the item to JPG with the highest resolution possible. We will do our best to digitize the design and send you a proof for approval.
  • Option 3: bring the item to our Showroom and we will scan it for you!
  • NOTE: phone images typically do not work. Scanning software is the best option.
What's your return policy?

We will gladly accept returns on non-customized orders within 30 days of purchase. To request a refund, email order@birchbarndesigns.com. Please note, you must be able to show proof of purchase to receive a refund. Customers without proof of purchase will be given store credit.

Customers are responsible for returning the item(s), including insurance if shipped, to BirchBarn Designs (13 Ford Place, Unit #5, Scituate, MA 02066). Refunds will not include original shipping charges. We reserve the right to not accept a return and may charge a re-stocking or repair fee if the item has been used or is damaged.

Due the nature of customized orders, we are not able to accept returns or exchanges on personalized products.

How do I care for a wooden board?

We recommend applying mineral oil once a month, or whenever your board looks dry. For end-grain and edge-grain boards, you should also apply a board conditioner 1-2 times a year, or more depending on the frequency of use. For more details, check out our favorite Board Care tips.

The BirchBarn Shop is open Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm. Beginning Nov 30th, we are also open Saturdays 10a-2p (until Dec 24th).
