Description

Our Circle Walnut end-grain cutting board is not your average butcher block. Using large end-grain pieces of Black Walnut, we created a premier cutting board built to handle Iron Chef-style chopping sessions.

This board is cut in an intriguing circle shape, making it an instant conversation piece for your kitchen. The mixed colors of heart wood and sap wood from the wave-like end grain of black walnut will add to the contrast you’ve been looking for in your kitchen. It’s big enough to be a statement piece but just the right size to store away when you need that extra counter space.

You can add an optional juice groove around the perimeter of the board to collect food scraps on one side.

On the reverse side of the end grain board, we added our exclusive brisket pattern. This pattern is a unique combination of irregular ridges symbolizing a piece of rough-sawn wood. This groove pattern allows sliced meat to rest comfortably on the cutting board in its juices while slicing and serving.

This board is a multipurpose gem. Chop, slice, and serve using one handsome and handy end-grain walnut board. You’re going to love it!

FAQs

Some common questions when shopping for engraved cutting boards

Where do you put the text on an engraved cutting board?

We personalize the TOP of the board, and put the juice groove on the BACK of the board. This way, the engraved side can be used for charcuterie displays and the back can be used for chopping.

If you would rather personalize the cutting side, please indicate this in the notes section at checkout.

What text should I feature on an engraved cutting board?

This is a common question! For a simple engraving, we recommend one of four popular choices. (1) large initial or monogram (2) last name (3) wedding date or (4) longitude and latitude coordinates of a special place.

What is the correct layout for a monogram

For a traditional monogram, with a larger center initial, follow the rules noted below.

  • Individual’s monogram = first, last, middle (for example, Carrie Pearl Smith = cSp)
  • Couple’s monogram = wife’s name, last name, husband’s name (for example, Caroline and Scott Miller = cMs)

Where can I find GPS coordinates of a physical address?

We like using Google Maps for GPS coordinates. Simply enter a physical address and right click on the red pin to view the DD (decimal degrees) coordinates. If you would like to use DMS (degrees, minutes, seconds) follow this formula.

Does food get stuck on an engraved cutting board?

We get this question a lot. Honestly, we have not had a problem with food getting stuck in the engraving. If bits of cheese do get wedged into the grooves of your engraved cutting board, we recommend using a soft bristle brush (an old toothbrush works great) to clean in between the grooves.

How do you treat wood cutting boards to make them food safe?

Our wood cutting boards are treating with mineral oil. Mineral oil is 100% food safe and great for conditioning wood. You can also use coconut oil as an alternative to mineral oil. General care instructions are given with your engraved cutting board. You can also find wood cutting board care instructions and a video on our website.

Tips & tricks for wood cutting board care?

Detailed wood cutting board care instructions are listed on our website, along with a YouTube video for reference. But generally, our recommendations are: (1) wash both sides of the board with soap/water (2) stand the board on its edge overnight to dry, and (3) condition all sides with mineral oil. Easy as 1-2-3!
