Description

Our Hingham Breadboard is our modern take on the classic bread cutting board. Black Cherry and Black Walnut were used because of the richness of color tones and wave-like grain patterns. Biscuit joints hold the three pieces together to ensure symmetry, strength, and durability.

The Hingham Breadboard is ideal for serving and displaying and is the perfect backdrop for any home-baked (or even store-bought) treats. Named in honor of our favorite baker, this board is a charming addition to your kitchen essentials.

Beyond its practicality as a bread cutting board, the Hingham Breadboard doubles as a stylish charcuterie piece. Whether you’re hosting a casual brunch or an elegant dinner party, this board is the perfect backdrop for presenting your culinary creations. The beautiful grain patterns become a focal point, elevating the visual appeal of your table setting.

Compact and lightweight, our bread cutting board is easy to store when not in use. Its slim profile fits neatly into cabinets or drawers, saving valuable space in your kitchen or small dining spaces.

To preserve its luster, we recommend occasionally treating it with food-safe mineral oil, which will nourish the wood and enhance its natural sheen.

FAQs

Some common questions for designing an engraved gift

What should I engrave on a serving board?

For a simple engraving, we recommend one of four popular choices (1) large initial or monogram (2) last name (3) wedding date or (4) longitude and latitude coordinates of a special place.

What is the correct layout for a monogram

For a traditional monogram, with a larger center initial, follow the rules noted below.

  • Individual’s monogram = first, last, middle (for example, Carrie Pearl Smith = cSp)
  • Couple’s monogram = wife’s name, last name, husband’s name (for example, Caroline and Scott Miller = cMs)

Where can I find GPS coordinates of a physical address?

We like using Google Maps for GPS coordinates. Simply enter a physical address and right click on the red pin to view the DD (decimal degrees) coordinates. If you would like to use DMS (degrees, minutes, seconds) follow this formula.

Does food get stuck on an engraved charcuterie board?

We get this question a lot. Honestly, we have not had a problem with food getting stuck in the engraving. If bits of cheese do get wedged into the grooves of your engraved cutting board, we recommend using a soft bristle brush (an old toothbrush works great) to clean in between the grooves.

How do you treat wood cutting boards to make them food safe?

Our wood cutting boards are treating with mineral oil. Mineral oil is 100% food safe and great for conditioning wood. You can also use coconut oil as an alternative to mineral oil. General care instructions are given with your engraved cutting board. You can also find wood cutting board care instructions and a video on our website.

Tips & tricks for wood cutting board care?

Detailed wood cutting board care instructions are listed on our website, along with a YouTube video for reference. But generally, our recommendations are: (1) wash both sides of the board with soap/water (2) stand the board on its edge overnight to dry, and (3) condition all sides with mineral oil. Easy as 1-2-3!
