Description

These custom rolling pins are part of our limited edition Minot’s Light Collection. We took the hand-turned French rolling pin and added a seaside spin! These limited-edition pins are made from black walnut. Compared to our normal French rolling pin, these ends are turned to resemble the iconic lighthouse, Minot’s Light.

Our carpenters turn the raw wood by hand one piece at a time, using a lathe, making each piece uniquely beautiful. Like a snowflake, in that case, no two are exactly alike.

To use a wooden French rolling pin, simply place it in the center of the dough and roll it outward in a back-and-forth motion while applying gentle pressure. As you roll, rotate the dough slightly to maintain an even thickness and prevent sticking. The tapered ends of the pin make it easy to manipulate and shape the dough according to your needs.

If your favorite bakers love the ocean, this is the perfect holiday gift! While great on their own, the Minot’s Light Custom Rolling Pins pair great with a limited edition Minot’s Light Holiday Ornament, Muddler, and Tap Handle. Of course, you can add custom engraving for a thoughtfully personalized piece.

All-in-all, Custom French rolling pins are great for rolling dough to a specific thickness. Bon Appetit, notes that “nothing else, no matter how complicated or ergonomically designed offers the same ease of use and control” as a French Rolling Pin.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is a common question! For a simple engraving, we recommend one of four popular choices. (1) large initial or monogram (2) last name (3) wedding date or (4) longitude and latitude coordinates of a special place.

For a traditional monogram, with a larger center initial, follow the rules noted below.

  • Individual’s monogram = first, last, middle (for example, Carrie Pearl Smith = cSp)
  • Couple’s monogram = wife’s name, last name, husband’s name (for example, Caroline and Scott Miller = cMs)
