The people have spoken and they want more Original! So we took our classic Original pattern look and built a thick butcher block cutting board with a style that was made to last.
At 2.5″ inches thick, the BIG Original will become the easiest conversation piece in your kitchen. It’s so heavy, you can add this thick butcher block to your daily workout routine. But don’t worry, we added optional engraved handles to the sides to make it easier to move it about your kitchen.
We love our Original pattern, as it’s become a staple to the BirchBarn name and is beloved by our customers. We figured if we can’t beat it, we might as well double it. The alternating wood pattern is an exact match to our popular Original cutting board.
The thick butcher block cutting board size is perfect for comfortable chopping and prepping for meals. Combined with the large surface area, you’ll never want to use another butcher block cutting board.

This is a common question! For a simple engraving, we recommend one of four popular choices. (1) large initial or monogram (2) last name (3) wedding date or (4) longitude and latitude coordinates of a special place.
For a traditional monogram, with a larger center initial, follow the rules noted below.

Our wood charcuterie boards are treating with mineral oil. Mineral oil is 100% food safe and great for conditioning wood. You can also use coconut oil as an alternative to mineral oil. General care instructions are included with your order. We also have detailed instructions for wood cutting board and a video on our website.
Detailed board care instructions are listed on our website, along with a YouTube video for reference. But generally, our recommendations are: (1) wash both sides of the board with soap/water (2) stand the board on its edge overnight to dry, and (3) condition all sides with mineral oil. Easy as 1-2-3!
