Description

The Captain’s Cutting Board is a sleek and nautical dark wood cutting board for the modern chef in your life. Made with black walnut, hard maple, and bubinga or jatoba (depending on availability), when combined and finished the dark wood cutting board gives off a satiny finish that contrasts beautifully.

But don’t let the luster fool you, the Captain is a beast in the kitchen. These hardwoods are durable and can hold up to be used as your everyday cutting board.

The Captain’s Cutting Board is part of our exclusive “Anker” Collection. The Anker Collection is our fresh take on the traditional kitchen board set. Each piece in the collection features an optional Anchor logo you can have engraved in the corner of the product. We know it’s spelled incorrectly but we spiced up the name for some added fun.

This Collection also includes two serving boards and a matching Cap Catch. Collect them all and complete the set for a modern kitchen set.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is a common question! For a simple engraving, we recommend one of four popular choices. (1) large initial or monogram (2) last name (3) wedding date or (4) longitude and latitude coordinates of a special place.

For a traditional monogram, with a larger center initial, follow the rules noted below.

  • Individual’s monogram = first, last, middle (for example, Carrie Pearl Smith = cSp)
  • Couple’s monogram = wife’s name, last name, husband’s name (for example, Caroline and Scott Miller = cMs)

Our wood charcuterie boards are treating with mineral oil. Mineral oil is 100% food safe and great for conditioning wood. You can also use coconut oil as an alternative to mineral oil.  General care instructions are included with your order. We also have detailed instructions for wood cutting board and a video on our website.

Detailed board care instructions are listed on our website, along with a YouTube video for reference. But generally, our recommendations are: (1) wash both sides of the board with soap/water (2) stand the board on its edge overnight to dry, and (3) condition all sides with mineral oil. Easy as 1-2-3!
