Engraved Cutting Boards
If you’re shopping for a gift, consider an engraved cutting board for a truly unique and personal touch. Personalized cutting boards often feature a couple’s monogram, last name, or even the latitude and longitude of a favorite place (like their wedding venue or engagement spot). Browse the Inspiration Gallery for examples and ideas. We also wrote an entire blog post featuring popular engraved cutting boards and a post with tips for personalizing your cutting board.
Each of our cutting boards are handmade with care and precision. We offer more than a dozen different cutting board options, ranging in size and wood type. To narrow down the choices, first consider whether you prefer a thinner or thicker cutting board (see our favorites in the FAQ below). You can also browse by board shape and color pattern or check out our blog post How to Pick the Best Cutting Board.
Frequently Asked Questions
The standard thickness of an engraved cutting board is 1.25”-1.5” thick. Popular choices are the Sand Hills, Signature Essentials, Original, Carving Board and Cole Cutting Board.
That’s awesome! You’re speaking our love language. Check out the BIG Original, Cherry Edge XL or the BAB. These cutting boards range from 2”-2.5” thick and have handles carved into the sides for easy lifting.
Alright, now you’re really speaking our language. We built two cutting boards specifically for smoked BBQ and grilling (…think brisket, pulled pork and ribs). These boards feature a wild pattern of grooves designed to catch the juice from your grilled BBQ. Check out the River Rock Farm Board and the Circle Walnut Board to see these cutting boards in action.
And if you need a cookbook to pair with the cutting board, we highly recommend Franklin Barbecue: A Meat Smoking Manifesto.
We personalize the TOP of the board, and put the juice groove on the BACK of the board. This way, the engraved side can be used for charcuterie displays and the back can be used for chopping.
If you would rather personalize the cutting side, please indicate this in the notes section at checkout.
We get this question a lot. Honestly, we have not had a problem with food getting stuck in the engraving. If bits of cheese do get wedged into the grooves of your engraved cutting board, we recommend using a soft bristle brush (an old toothbrush works great) to clean in between the grooves.
Our wood cutting boards are treating with mineral oil. Mineral oil is 100% food safe and great for conditioning wood. You can also use coconut oil as an alternative to mineral oil. General care instructions are given with your engraved cutting board. You can also find wood cutting board care instructions and a video on our website.
Detailed wood cutting board care instructions are listed on our website, along with a YouTube video for reference. But generally, our recommendations are: (1) wash both sides of the board with soap/water (2) stand the board on its edge overnight to dry, and (3) condition all sides with mineral oil. Easy as 1-2-3!
